Transcatheter Device Closure of a Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect in Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries

چکیده

The majority of patients with congenitally corrected transposition the great arteries, also known as arteries {S,L,L} have ventricular septal defects (VSD), most commonly perimembranous VSD (pmVSD). Transcatheter device closure pmVSD in these has not been widely described. We present a case L-TGA an Amplatzer Duct Occluder II (ADOII) using deployment starting subpulmonary left ventricle. demonstrates some technical advantages ADOII for closure, specifically its low profile, symmetric shape, and soft material. These characteristics are advantageous closing conventional but especially useful challenging anatomic substrates.

Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA) is a rare defect combining atrioventricular discordance with ventriculoarterial discordance. The atria are connected to the opposite ventricle (left atrium to right ventricle via a tricuspid valve) and the ventricles are connected to the incorrect great artery (right ventricle to aorta). Thus oxygenated blood is circulated syste...

Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries

Results Pre-operative SVEF was the only independent predictor of 1-year post-operative SVEF (p 0.0001). The late SVEF was preserved (defined as 40%) in 63% of patients who underwent surgery with an SVEF 40% compared with 10.5% of patients who underwent surgery with an SVEF 40%. Pre-operative variables associated with late mortality were an SVEF 40%, a subpulmonary ventricular systolic pressure ...

Primary transcatheter umbrella closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defect.

OBJECTIVES The starting hypothesis was that some perimembranous ventricular septal defects can be closed safely and effectively with a Bard Rashkind double umbrella introduced through a long transvenous sheath. DESIGN A descriptive study of all patients who underwent attempted transcatheter umbrella closure of a perimembranous ventricular septal defect. Those patients selected for the study h...

Transcatheter closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defects.

The isolated perimembranous ventricular septal defect is one of the most common congenital cardiac malformations. Although surgery has been performed and has a low associated risk, it still involves morbidity due to factors such as residual leaks, atrioventricular block, postpericardiotomy syndrome and arrhythmias. It has been speculated that percutaneous closure of these defects could minimize...

Subpulmonary obstruction in congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries due to ventricular membranous septal aneurysms.

The clinical, hemodynamic, and angiographic observations, as well as the surgical approach used for repair in three patients with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries and ventricular membranous septal aneurysms, are presented. In two of the three patients the membranous septal aneurysm caused subpulmonary obstruction, with 94 and 125 mm Hg systolic gradients. In each patie...
